Although there are many aspects to Calisthenics, skills is one of the more fun and popular aspects. Whether it’s something as simple as a crow, or more complex like a handstand, learning a new skill can really help you to explore the true limitations of your body and make training a bit more fun. Trust us, you will always be surprised at what you can actually achieve.
Build unrivalled core strength
In truth, all of our sessions will help you build fantastic core strength, but skills in particular will challenge the abs like nothing you have ever tried. Think plank x1000 and you’re probably halfway there. Don’t worry though, we tailor everything to a person's level so it will feel challenging but doable.

Again, we like to think that our sessions are fun across the board, but skills are just a natural progression after you have completed the beginners. It will continue to challenge you and you will continue to be proud of what you can do, whilst of course, being pushed by our friendly community and enjoying fitness for once.
I’ve been working out with Rick and Urban Calisthenics for a couple of years now and I can’t recommend him enough. Although I’ve been doing calisthenics for a while, Rick really upped the actual quality of my training and broke it down… More to the basics. I’m the strongest I’ve ever been, my form is the best it’s ever been and I have been injury free (which is remarkable in your late 30s…).
He also keeps my training engaging and adjusts it to suit whatever latest hobby I am trying at the moment (snowboarding this time…!).

Having tried typical gym membership, weights, running and more recently Hyrox, I have struggled to find a fitness activity and community that is 'me'. Recently I decided to try calisthenics on the recommendation of a friend, as… More I was looking to build upper body strength and tone, as well as learning skills. I joined Rick and the team at Urban Calisthenics for a meet up, was made to feel completely welcome and had an absolute blast despite having no idea what I was doing. The community were so welcoming and everyone was willing to take the time to show me exercises to try.
Since then I have joined the beginners classes. Coach Ola is great and makes the classes fun, but they are also challenging meaning I can feel the progression. I have started to work towards learning hand stands, a skill I am really keen to master, as well as doing some ring skills and the coaches have been great at helping guide my development as well as trying to stop me running before I can walk.
All in all a great group, and community, and I'm looking forward to seeing how my skills develop in 2026!
I didn’t know what calisthenics was but I’m a fan now! I’d been to gyms with PTs doing weights etc and thought I was doing well. Then I met Rick aka “pickle” and without knowing I was doing cali. For the first time I’m seeing great results… More - I’ve lost weight, strengthened my core, become stronger and improved my posture. The cool part is that anybody of any age and ability can do it. I've been attending Urban Calistancs, UK for a while. I can honestly say it's a great place to go and do calisthenics with out being judged by overs,friendly and accommodating is an understatement.
The moment you walk through… More the door you are welcome with smiles and cheer.
My progress in training is very noticeable.Since I've been attending classes twic a week, highly suggest it to anyone that really wants to try personal progression.
